The PUA–RISE Forum for Polymer Automation and Robotics was born from a shared vision: to create a robust ecosystem where industry leaders, policymakers, academia, and start-ups unite to reimagine the future of Indian manufacturing and engineering, particularly in the polymer and plastics industry.
Through our participation in conferences and exhibitions nationwide, we engaged with hundreds of stakeholders from the plastics and allied sectors. A consistent, urgent message emerged: India’s MSMEs- the backbone of the plastics sector; are grappling with critical, unresolved challenges in adopting smart automation and robotics.
Many MSMEs lacked awareness of the latest technologies or questioned whether upgrading was even realistic. High automation and machinery costs discouraged investment, while knowledge of government schemes for robotics in plastics manufacturing was scarce. Sustainability presented its own uncertainties- could AI-enabled automation and green practices be profitable, or were they just another burden? And with complex rules such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), countless MSMEs struggled to navigate compliance.
We knew the industry needed one central hub: a credible space where MSMEs could discover robotics and automation solutions for polymer manufacturers, learn how to integrate them, and connect with the right technology and financing partners.
The PUA–RISE Forum, an initiative by Polymerupdate Academy, was created precisely for this purpose- to be a national polymer industry forum in India where technology providers, policymakers, industry experts, and entrepreneurs unite to accelerate the plastics industry’s transition toward smarter, more sustainable, and globally competitive manufacturing.
Across India’s industrial hubs: from Daman to Rajkot, Ahmedabad to Pune- small plastic manufacturing units play a vital role. Yet, these enterprises face hurdles that threaten their competitiveness in a digitizing world:
Heavy reliance on manual labour, vulnerable to absenteeism and rising costs
High initial investment even for affordable cobots or pick-and-place robots
Low productivity from outdated machinery
Limited access to government schemes for robotics in plastics manufacturing
Complex environmental regulations around single-use plastics
Skill gaps in operating and maintaining automated systems
As the plastics industry faces mounting pressure to reduce its environmental footprint, PUA–RISE 2025 will focus on practical pathways for MSMEs to adopt AI-powered robotics in polymer manufacturing: enabling greater precision, efficiency, and cost savings.
Our objective is to build a knowledge-driven ecosystem where innovation, policy, and industry seamlessly connect. Through PUA–RISE Forum registration, MSMEs gain access to strategies for using AI to improve productivity in plastics MSMEs, understanding government incentives, and implementing smart automation in Indian plastics MSMEs
The PUA–RISE (Robotics & Innovation for Smarter Engineering) Forum is more than an event; it’s a catalyst for change in polymer manufacturing automation.
How PUA–RISE Helps:
