DR. SAMEER JOSHI

Dr. Sameer Joshi, PhD is Vice Chairman, Governing Council of Indian Plastics Institute (2023-25). He is considered a renowned expert in the domain of Circular Economy, Recycling, EPR & Plastics.


He is a Fellow of the Indian Plastics Institute and the Indian Institute of Valuers. Dr. Joshi is also a Member of the Institute of Engineers India and Senior Member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, USA. He also holds memberships of esteemed global organizations including the Regional Committee Plastics Waste South Asia, World Economic Forum and the UN Marine Litter Action Group. Dr. Joshi is also associated as a member with Niti Aayog’s committee for drafting plastic waste rules.


Dr. Joshi is also Member, Advisory Committee CIPET- Dept. of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Govt. of India and CSR Committee, Assochem India. He is also a Member of Industry Academia Committee, Amity University and Founder Member, Plastics Committee Material Recycling Association of India. A Life Member of the National Solid Waste Association of India (NSWAI), Dr. Joshi also holds the membership of the Prevent Waste Alliance (Germany) and is a signatory to the Global Commitment to End Plastic Waste (Ellen MacArthur Foundation).


He has also been on several National and State level committees constituted for plastic waste management like CM’s Task Force on Plastic Waste Management, Maharashtra. Dr. Joshi has also been associated with committees of State Pollution Boards in India. 


He has several published articles to his credit in esteemed national and global publications and holds a patent. Dr. Joshi has also been a speaker and moderator at key reputable national and global conferences and has been a recipient of several prestigious state and national level awards.


Dr. Joshi has a Plastic injection molding unit in Pune. He holds a degree in Polymer Engineering and PhD in Waste Management.
