1. PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)

 

Tg: ~143°C | Tm: ~343°C | Tensile Strength: ~100 MPa

 

Key Properties: High mechanical strength, chemical resistance, steam sterilization stable

 

Latest Applications: Spine implants, aerospace clips, 3D-printed surgical tools, high-end gears

 

 

2. PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide)

 

Tg: ~85°C | Tm: ~280°C | Tensile Strength: ~90–120 MPa

 

Key Properties: Dimensional stability, chemical resistance, UL 94 V-0 (self-extinguishing)

 

Latest Applications: Automotive turbochargers, electric motor insulators, chemical pumps

 

 

3. PI (Polyimide) / PAI (Polyamide-imide)

 

Tg: PI: ~360°C | PAI: ~280°C

 

Key Properties: Extreme thermal resistance, wear-resistant, radiation and solvent stable

 

Latest Applications: Semiconductor test sockets, bushings in aircraft, space vehicle insulation

 

 

4. PSU / PES / PPSU (Polysulfones)

 

Tg: 185–230°C | Tensile Strength: ~70–90 MPa

 

Key Properties: Transparent, hydrolysis-resistant, steam sterilizable

 

Latest Applications: Reusable medical devices, dental equipment, sterilizable surgical instruments

 

 

 

5. PEI (Polyetherimide – Ultem®)

 

Tg: ~217°C | Tensile Strength: ~110 MPa

 

Key Properties: High strength, flame retardant, transparent in some grades

 

Latest Applications: LED housings, drone components, 3D printer filament

 

 

6. LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer)

 

Tg: ~110–130°C | Tm: ~280–320°C | Very low CTE

 

Key Properties: High frequency performance, excellent dimensional stability

 

Latest Applications: 5G antenna housing, ultra-thin E/E connectors, wearable electronics

 

 

7. PBI (Polybenzimidazole – Celazole®)

 

Tg: ~425°C | Use Temp: ~350°C

 

Key Properties: Highest heat resistance, flame-proof, no melting point

 

Latest Applications: Aerospace insulation, hot gas filtration, high-temp electrical spacers

 

 

8. High Temp Polyamides (PA6T, PA9T, PA10T)

 

Tg: ~130–160°C | Tensile Strength: ~80–100 MPa

 

Key Properties: High thermal stability, chemical resistance, E&E friendly

 

Latest Applications: EV battery parts, fuel system connectors, SMT reflow-resistant housings

 

 

9. PTFE / FEP / PFA / ETFE (Fluoropolymers)

 

Use Temp: -200°C to +260–310°C

 

Key Properties: Low friction, chemical inertness, high dielectric strength

 

Latest Applications: 5G cable insulation, chemical plant linings, cryogenic seals

 

 

10. PAR (Polyarylate), PPE (Polyphenylene Ether), PPA (Polyphthalamide)

 

Tg: PAR ~190°C | PPA ~125–280°C

 

Key Properties: High strength, UV resistance, low moisture absorption

 

Latest Applications: Under-hood automotive parts, camera lenses, hybrid vehicle sensors
